Crafted Classic sportive 2015

Countryside, beer & hog roast: British Cycling members receive 20% discount on Crafted Classique online entry

Members of British Cycling can take advantage of discounted entry into the Crafted Classique sportive if they sign-up on online before 12 noon on 21st August.

Standard online entry into the event, which takes place in Ipswich on 22nd August, costs £25, but British Cycling members can enter for as little as £20 at http://www.ipswichcyclingweekend.co.uk/crafted-classique

Now in its second year, the popular sportive combines a ride through the beautiful Suffolk countryside with locally sourced beer and hog roast. Cyclists can choose from three distances – a brand new 55km shorter route, designed for those entering the sportive scene, 100km or 100 miles.

Last year, 500 riders took part in the timed event. New for 2015, there will be faster registration, a rolling start and subtle revisions to the 100 km and 100 mile courses.

All three routes begin at Ipswich’s historic waterfront where cyclists can prepare with a complimentary espresso before heading out to Aldeburgh on the Heritage Coast (100 mile).

Each route then leads back to the waterfront, where participants can dig into a well-deserved hog roast, washed down with a cool locally-sourced beer once they reach the finish line.

Supported by Ipswich Borough Council and British Cycling, the sportive is sponsored by digital marketing agency Crafted. The event will open the Ipswich Cycling Weekend, with Sky Ride Ipswich taking place in the town on Sunday.
